A metal chimney liner is required to help vent the harmful combustion products from wood burning fireplace inserts and gas burning appliances in your home.
Liners for Fireplace
All fireplace inserts (a pre-fabricated metal fireplace installed inside of a brick fireplace) require a stainless steel liner. However, most brick fireplaces do not need a new metal lining (see our blog for more details). For any fireplace that you are wondering about or you have been told needs to have a liner, we will first inspect and make sure that this is the case, and if so, give you a free on-site estimate to have one installed.
Liners for Gas Appliances
All gas appliances require an aluminum liner. These serve to properly vent the carbon monoxide out of your home. It can deteriorate or get damaged over time if not properly maintained or improperly sized or if you have an older chimney, it may have been constructed without a liner. If you have received a warning tag about your gas chimney liner, then we will assess the situation and give you a free, on-site estimate to get this resolved.
